Can I use LDK soft locks for demo licenses?

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP.

Global Graphics already provide demo licenses as time-limited soft-lock licenses tagged as demo licenses.

LDK demo licenses are set to expire at a set time after they are activated and first used (rather than on a pre-defined date), so you are able to hold a small number in inventory without having them expire on the shelf, or needing to order the permit “just-in-time”.

This is not true of Harlequin evaluation licenses (OEM IF 0x0B for HMR, 0x63 for HHR). The license period for those licenses starts at order time.

A variety of different durations can be made available for demo licenses. You may wish to use 12 months for in-house use, to minimize the overhead of renewing them; perhaps six months for your regular dealers and three months for new dealers. If you require additional options discuss them with your account manager.

Just like other LDK time-limited licenses, demo licenses may have their time period refreshed with a Product Key that delivers a Protection Key Update, Global Graphics requires the original Product Key or the Protection Key ID as a part of your order. See Time-limited licenses for more detail.
