How do I reduce single-point failure when using a a DFE with multiple RIPs on multiple servers?

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP.

If you are running multiple RIPs on each of multiple servers within a rack system for a digital press, you can reduce the risk of a single point of failure by using LDK licenses with multiple activations and multiple concurrency. You would install an LDK License Server on each server box, each one providing licenses for all of the RIPs running on that server. Thus losing one box in the rack would not prevent the RIPs on the other boxes from continuing to process jobs. Of course, if you have other single-instance components in the DFE you would still have single points of failure, but the risk may still be reduced slightly.
