HqnLayout color bars and control strips

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP.

Control strips, color bars, slug lines, and so on can be drawn either as a result of selecting the Control strip checkbox situated in the Effects section of the Page Setup dialog, or of requesting a color bar or control strip annotation using simple imposition. In both cases, the design of the control strip or color bar is the same, but their access methods differ.

A simple imposition annotation may also use a Mark object as defined for use with the HqnImpose2 procset, rather than the ControlBar structures defined in the following section.
