If this parameter value is true , then when the RIP detects invalid instances of known formats of cmap table in TrueType font data, that table will be ignored. If the parameter is false , then the bad table will cause an error as it would have done before Harlequin 12.1r1.

Even if IgnoreBadTTCmaps is set to true , if a TrueType font processed by the RIP contains an unknown cmap format (as opposed to a bad instance of a known format), the result will be an error. The IgnoreBadTTCmaps parameter only applies to the processing of known formats of cmap table.

The default value for the IgnoreBadTTCmaps parameter is true.

Skipping bad cmap tables during TrueType font resource definition may still lead to errors in processing the job. If a cmap table is badly formatted but the job processing requires it be present, then if the bad table is ignored, the job still has to error (just at a later stage, where a font resource is used rather than defined).
