Is there a faster way to get my customer up and running again?

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP.

“Emergency license” parts are available. These are very short-period time-limited licenses (typically seven days), which are usually available free of charge. They are normally equivalent to a demo license in using the highest resolution that you typically sell and with a fairly complete set of layered option and plugin licenses.

During the ordering process, you can add any additional plugins, layered options, and so forth in your product catalog to an emergency license free of charge. Your support team can then hand out a Product Key for an emergency license to any of your customers reporting license problems, ensuring that they can continue production immediately. The grace period allows time for you and your customer to develop a better understanding of the situation.

The "emergency license" role in the Merlin Online ordering system allows users to order part numbers that are explicitly marked as being emergency licenses, without also enabling them to order other parts. It may well be appropriate for your support team, for instance, to have the emergency license role as well as "support" and "viewer".

If you would like emergency licenses to be added to your part list and to enable any of your staff who would not normally order licenses to be able to order them, please contact your account manager.

Emergency licenses are usually created as time-period licenses, meaning that the time period only starts when they are activated. This means that your support team may simply be provided with a small inventory of emergency Product Keys that can be stored until they are used.
