Job output
This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; and to Harlequin MultiRIP but not Harlequin Core
Depending upon the RIPʹs Page Buffering configuration, the page is either sent directly to the plugin for output, along with the page information derived from the page setup and the job itself, or queued in the Output Controller.
If it is sent to the Output Controller, the page and its associated information is stored on disk. While the page is in the Output Controller, some of its details can be modified via the Info dialog. Once the page reaches the head of the Output Controller queue, the RIP sends it to the plugin for output.
Upon receiving the page, the plugin does not know whether the job has spent time in the Output Controller queue or was sent direct from the interpreter.
Note: There is no guarantee that pages of the same job or separations of the same page will all arrive together or in sequence, because the user could reorder them by hand while they are in the Output Controller queue.
