(v13) Harlequin Core SDK

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; and to Harlequin Core but not Harlequin MultiRIP.

The Harlequin Core SDK provides you with the tools you need to offer customized systems with a core of proven technology.

On Windows, the Harlequin Core is supplied as a 64-bit or 32-bit SDK and can be built on a 32-bit or 64-bit OS. On Linux and macOS, only a 64-bit SDK is available, which builds a 64-bit application.

The Harlequin Core interprets the PDL files that it reads, and in particular how the Harlequin Core can be configured with the PostScript language. For more information see the Extensions Manual. .

The Extensions Manual describes several configurations of the Harlequin RIP, including those packaged with a GUI layer or other skin. Some of the functionality described in the Extensions Manual is added in these skins, which are not part of the core RIP.

The PostScript language is documented in the PostScript Language Reference Manual, by Adobe Systems Inc., published by Addison Wesley. This manual is more familiarly known as the Red Book . There have been three editions of the Red Book; for convenience, GGS documentation refers to these editions as [RB], [RB2], and [RB3]. In general, the rest of this document refers to [RB3].
