(v13) Inactive mode

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP

This is the default mode.

Here the virtual device has the same properties as the output device except that it is contone for the benefit of compositing any transparency objects.

All color management, including conversion of named colors to process, calibration, and the effects of /NextDevice entries in setreproduction, will be performed before compositing objects into the virtual device. As a result, overprinted named colors will appear to knock out, and any overprints and/or compositing may not be colorimetric.

There are no color transforms from the virtual device to the output device. With the exception of the ability to composite transparency, the virtual device is the same as the output device.
