(v13) Replacement V2C files
This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP. Applies only to RIPs using LDK security.
For cases where the LDK activation completes at the EMS server but a key is not created, you may be sent a replacement V2C (Vendor-to-Customer) file containing data to update a Sentinel protection key on the end user's computer). You should use one of the following procedures to apply the replacement V2C file:
- If you are using Windows, use either the LDK Tool or the ldkutil command-line tool.
- If this is the initial activation, select New License > License this computer > No internet access > Create (to create a fingerprint file) and then Save the file. Select OK to remove the “Saved file” message and ignore the message about copying the file to a computer with internet access, just click OK. When the “Locate V2C file...” message displays, locate the V2C file you have been sent and click Select.
- If the activation is to update an existing key, select Update License > Update for this computer > No internet access. Select the key ID and save the file. Ignore the message about copying it to a computer with internet access and click OK. When the “Locate V2C file...” message displays, locate the V2C file you have been sent and click Select.
- If you are using Linux or macOS, you must use the ldkutil command-line tool.
Whether you are performing an initial activation or updating an existing key, use:
ldkutil.exe -apply -i <V2C>
