(v13) Starting the installation on Linux
This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; and to Harlequin Core but not Harlequin MultiRIP.
The Harlequin Core SDK is installed onto a Linux operating system using an InstallAnywhere package. The Linux distribution is provided as a .zip file containing the actual installer as a single file.
Before installing, refer to (v13) Setting the locale on Linux and macOS for important information.
If you install the HHR on Linux as superuser, then by default it is available to all users on the system and installed to (for example):
/usr/local/bin/HHR_XX.rx_xxx
If you install the HHR as a normal user, then by default it is installed into (for example):
/u/<name>/HHR_xx.rx_xxx
In this case, you need a superuser password if you wish to install the Sentinel LDK runtime during the installation.
- Go to the directory containing the installation .install_HHRurw_linux64 file. This file is a self-extracting installer which uses the Java-based “InstallAnywhere” technology. The .install_HHRurw_linux64 file contains its own Java runtime in order to run on systems without Java.
- Open a terminal window, cd to the installer location and use:
/install_HHRurw_linux64.bin
Follow the screen instructions. For more information see (v13) InstallAnywhere procedure Linux and macOS.
