(v13) Types of core module plugin
This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; and to Harlequin MultiRIP but not Harlequin Core
A core module plugin can be either:
- Programmatic screening.
The Core RIP screening devices provide a method to extend the screening options available to PostScript jobs running on the RIP. Standard PostScript screening actions are implemented as static data, but the core screening API provides the ability to implement dynamically changing actions on the page buffer ‐ for example, true error diffusion screening.
- Color management.
The Core RIP provides a color management API that can be used to extend the color management options available to PostScript jobs being processed by the RIP. For example, the API can be used to add support for alternative color management libraries, as in the example liblittlecms
.
