What are the benefits of buying dongles and hard locks separately?

By buying unprogrammed dongles and separate hard locks, you can hold a smaller inventory with a smaller risk of delay. The same dongles could be used for all RIP variants by activating the correct hard lock on each one.

In addition, you can distribute the inventory of dongles through your sales channels. An unprogrammed dongle is relatively low cost and low value and can therefore be stocked by your international partners or dealers. The activation of a hard-lock license against a dongle can be done at any level from your own fulfilment team down the channel to the end user.
