Operators and procedures

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP

A small number of operators and procedures are listed here, mostly because they are newly described or because there is no obvious single chapter in which to describe them.

For some other operators and procedures, not listed here, you can find their descriptions by looking for their names in the Index.

The main listing for each operator or procedure is followed by its location and the versions of the RIP which support it. There is then a summary of its effect on the operand stack, followed by notes explaining the intent, usage, and effects of the operator or procedure, and possibly a cross-reference to more information. This is an example for the fictitious example_op operator:

TEXT
example_op example_dict
example_op dict

This example operator is in example_dict . It consumes nothing from the operand stack and returns a dictionary. If necessary, the remainder of the entry describes the operands and returned results in more detail, any changes to the pagedevice or graphics state, and any other side effects. There may also be a comment on dependencies on the chosen PostScript-language level.
