Doing your first build (Windows, Linux, macOS)

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; and to Harlequin Core but not Harlequin MultiRIP.

The Harlequin Core SDK allows you to create an application that handles the input of job data and produce output rasters; see the following figure. In addition, because the source code for the service layer skinkit is provided, you can enable other functions and features of the Harlequin Core SDK.

You are not expected to change the inner “skinkit” layer; it is provided in source for the rare occasions when you might need to change it. Please get GGSL input prior to changing the skinkit.

You can extend your system by as much or as little as required.

The Harlequin Core SDK is provided with skintest, a test harness which takes the place of your code, and which can be rebuilt to suit your requirements and personal preferences.

See the Release Notes for your version of Harlequin Core for supported versions of operating system and compiler. Specific versions referred to below were correct at the time that this section was last updated, but may not be completely correct for your environment.
