(v13) Abstract color profiles
This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP
The ICC specification defines an Abstract profile class that is capable of color conversions using the PCS as the working space to cater for special effects.
In addition, ICC devicelink profiles can contain proprietary special effects in other working color spaces, commonly this working space would be RGB. This usage is not what the ICC devicelink was designed for, but they can be used in proprietary color workflows along with standard input and output ICC profiles.
The Harlequin RIP will allow these abstract profiles to be configured within a color workflow.
None of the PDLs supported by the RIP specify a means of working with abstract profiles. The RIP allows for abstract profiles to be configured within the definition of setreproduction. See Color spaces and color management for further information.
