(v13) OEM added functions

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; and to Harlequin Core but not Harlequin MultiRIP.

The Harlequin Core SDK allows you to create an application that handles the input of job data and produces output rasters; see Figure: Source input and raster output below. In addition, because the source code for the service layer skinkit is provided, you can enable other functions and features of the Harlequin Core SDK.

You can extend your system by as much or as little as required.

To extend the service layer skinkit, use the source code provided to enable other functions within the Harlequin Core SDK; for example:

  • Using appropriate PostScript language fragments, you can enable the RIP's recombination function. which allows PostScript language files and PDF files containing pre-separated elements to be converted into composite rasters.

Using the API with the core RIP several other functions can be performed; for example:

  • Color management
  • Screening

For more information on how to extend the service layer skinkit, see (v13) Harlequin Core Device specifications and the Extensions Manual.
