Ink limiting

The purpose of ink limiting is to limit the primary inks so that it does not overink.

Step 4a: Print Ink Limit Target

Print Interval Bars - A toggle switch to activate or deactivate the printing of interval bars on the test chart.

Choose PRINT TARGET to print the target previewed to the right on Smart Print Controller (SPC).

If you do not wish to print targets, you can choose Skip and opt to use measurements you have taken previously.

Step 4b: Read Ink Limit Target

Measure the color patches from the test chart printed in the previous step. Use IMPORT MEASUREMENTS to import the LAB values from the data file produced by your measurement device. They are then reflected in the Ink Limits to the right.

You can also choose to manually adjust the Ink Limits as either Percentage or StatusT.

The Black channel is not measured but is manually entered. Look at the text in the black section of the test chart. Choose the Ink Limit where you can see the darkest text with the smallest possible point size font.

If you wish to continue with default values, choose Skip to proceed.
