RIP Settings

The panel allows you to setup the setting used by the RIP.

Rip Setting

Description

Override colour management in PDF

When enabled, the input ICC profiles override any found in the document. When not enabled, the Input ICC profiles are used only where they don't already exist in the document.

Preserve 100% black

When enabled, the black‐only part of your input is no longer converted to a CMYK‐equivalent color. This option is particularly relevant for black text because it avoids colored fringes.

Keep text black

When enabled, this setting keeps black text objects as process black.

When "Preserve 100% black" is enabled, this setting is enabled implicitly.

Color manage gray as CMYK

When enabled, monochrome (gray) data uses the selected CMYK input profile and is color managed as CMYK. When this option is selected, the Gray ICC profile setting becomes unavailable.

Optimise fine paths. strokes and outline text

This option turns on precise rendering in the RIP. It produces finer and lighter output which can look shaper. However this can have a performance impact.

Main Intent

This is the main rendering intent, it will be used when a rendering intent isn’t supplied in the job.

Override Intents

CMYK Images

This option overrides the rendering intent in the job for CMYK images.

RGB Images

This option overrides the rendering intent in the job for RGB images.

Input Profiles

RGB input profile

This allows the user to set the input profile for RGB colour spaces in the job (unless the job provides one). This is used to convert the RGB data into the connection space.

CMYK input profile

This allows the user to set the input profile for CMYK colour spaces in the job (unless the job provides one). This is used to convert the CMYK data into the connection space.

Gray input profile

This allows the user to set the input profile for Gray colour spaces in the job (unless the job provides one). This is used to convert the Gray data into the connection space.

Output Profile

Printer ICC profile

This is the device or output ICC profile. It us used to convert form the connection space to the devices colour space (e.g. CMYK or CMYKOGV).

Emulate another printer

This allows you to specify turn on a device link profile that can be used to emulate another device.

Device Emulation Profile

This allows you to specify the device link to be used to emulate the other device.

Device Link Profiles

RGB device link

This is general device link support. A chain of profiles can be built into a single device link that connects the input profile (RGB) to the output profile.

CMYK device link

This is general device link support. A chain of profiles can be built into a single device link that connects the input profile (CMYK) to the output profile.

Gray device link

This is general device link support. A chain of profiles can be built into a single device link that connects the input profile (Gray) to the output profile.
