Fonts

This page applies to Harlequin v13.1r0 and later; both Harlequin Core and Harlequin MultiRIP.

Global Graphics supplies RIPs that include a small number of fonts necessary to support basic functionality and licensable features, for example for use with imposition page furniture and Font Emulation (see below).

In addition, one of the following options may be included according to your contract:

• The PostScript Level 2 font set with 35 fonts using either URW or "Shiva" fonts.
• The PostScript Level 3 font set with 136 fonts using URW fonts.

Each of these font sets includes PDF's standard 14 fonts.

Global Graphics' RIP technology includes the option to emulate a missing font if required. Font emulation makes a typographically acceptable match to missing fonts with no text overflow and with appropriate character spacing, weight, width, and slant. This is ideal for cases where you are trying to print a document that does not include all of the fonts with which it was designed embedded within it.
